History[]
The Deutsche Kriegsmarine (DKM) was formed on the 23rd of November, 2020 by IcyMC_ following the formation of the German Empire. The DKM absorbed the remnants of the Cholan Imperial Navy following the collapse of the Cholan Empire and near total destruction of the Cholan Imperial Fleet.
The Deutsche Kriegsmarine utilizes the former home port of the Cholan Imperial Navy, the Port of the Sundarbans, now stylized Hafen der Sundarbans. The stationing of the DKM Erste fleet in the Bay of Bengal allows for strategic deployment in the Pacific and Indian oceans which are areas of interest for the Empire. The DKM Atlantisch fleet is planned to be stationed in Hamburg and will serve the Atlantic ocean and the Baltic sea interests will be covered by the DKM Baltisch Fleet.
The first ship of the DKM is KMS Hamburg, formerly CES Dhaka, which was an Atlas-class Aircraft Carrier of the Cholan Imperial Navy before being redesignated as a Chola-class Aircraft Carrier. The ships class is named in honour of the former Cholan Empire, the navy of which was absorbed into the Deutsche Kriegsmarine.
