In mid-November of 2020, the former nation of the German Empire was disbanded, opening a wide space in central and western Europe. Following the Black Sea conflict, members of the Forgeborn Empire and the recently disbanded United States of America formed a new German Empire, claiming much of the old Empire's cities and infrastructure.

Following the arrival of IcyMC_ in Berlin after the collapse of the Cholan Empire, plans were made to acquire the remnants of the Cholan Imperial Navy and its one remaining vessel (CES Dhaka) and construct the Deutsche Kriegsmarine.
